Gambling vessel ordinance discussed at county council meeting

LITTLE RIVER, SC (WMBF) – Big M Casino has been operating in Horry County since 2008, but there has been some confusion over an ordinance that went before the Horry County Council Tuesday night, and whether it means an increase to the fees paid by customers to the county and state.

The casino boat, which recently acquired the assets of the former SunCruz lines, is proactive in getting the ordinance renewed to guarantee that they will be allowed to operate for the next 10 years.

Tune in to WMBF News Today beginning at 5 a.m. as reporter Katrina Helmer explains what this ordinance means for Big M customers, and what the future holds for the area's only gambling cruise line.
