NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The North Myrtle Beach Fire Chief has announced retirement after 34 years of service.
Fire Chief Tom Barstow announced Monday his last day will be February 20.
Barstow said he's been with the department for 34 years and as of February will have been Chief for 19 years.
He and his wife will be retiring to a home they have in the mountains in North Carolina.
Barstow said he's leaving the best department in the state.
