Florence man charged after active meth lab discovered

DARLINGTON, SC (WMBF) - A Florence man has been charged in connection with an active meth lab discovered during a traffic stop on Highway 52 Bypass in Darlington County.

Daniel Judson Young, 26, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, manufacturing and distributing methamphetamine, and possession of marijuana 3rd or more offense, according to a press release.

The drugs were discovered at 4 p.m., according to Sheriff Wayne Byrd.

A cleanup crew from Columbia has cleared the area on the bypass, just north of SC 151.

    Several people who live on the side streets of Ocean Blvd. in North Myrtle Beach recently received a letter saying they need to get rid of obstructions in front of their homes. The city says that’s because the space could be used for public parking. Around 30 people came out to the city council meeting on Monday to speak out about the issue.
