Georgetown County Sheriff honors employees of the year

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Sheriff Lane Cribb of the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office honored three employees for their performance in 2014.

Lloyd Mcrea was named Correctional Officer of the Year. Officer McCrea has been working with GCSO for 15 years. He is a Field Training Officer.

Telecommunicator of the Year was awarded to Ted Felder. Felder has been employed with GCSO for 10 years.

Kenneth Higgins was awarded Deputy Sheriff of the Year. Deputy Higgins has worked with GCSO for seven years.

    The Heather Lakes neighborhood in Little River could possibly see the addition of hundreds of new homes in the near future. Last week, Horry County Council passed the first reading of an ordinance that would rezone the land, allowing developers to add the homes to where the now closed Heather Glen Golf Course currently sits.
