MBPD: Robber posed as hotel maintenance worker

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A man who stated he was a Breakers Hotel maintenance worker robbed a woman in her hotel room Saturday night.

According to the police report, a woman received a call from a man saying that he worked for maintenance and that he needed to come up to her room to fix a leak in her bathroom.

The man, who is also the suspect in this case, followed the victim to her bathroom and wrapped a towel around her face, according to the report.

The report also stated, the suspect told the victim “this will be over soon” and “don't look” while holding her still in the bathroom while another suspect rummaged through her room.

The suspects are believed to have stolen $3,000 in cash and a cell phone.

The victim described the man as a black male, 5-foot-4-inches tall and 140 pounds in weight wearing a black/navy blue uniform button up shirt.
