Conway police arrest 4 armed robbery suspects

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - Four robbery suspects have been arrested by Conway police.

Rasheed Glover, 19, of Conway, has been charged with armed robbery; Tyreke Phillips, 18, of Conway, has been charged with armed robbery and possession of stolen handgun; Ikeem Coles, 19, of Hemingway, has been charged with armed robbery; and Amontre Ellerbe, 18, of Conway, has been charged with armed robbery, kidnapping, possession of a firearm during commission of a violent crime, and possession of stolen handgun, according to police.

The four suspects were charged following an armed robbery at a convenience store, early Friday morning.

The Conway Police Department responded to the Scotchman, located on West Highway 501 just before 2 a.m.

The victim told police two black males had robbed the store and one of the suspects brandished a handgun during the robbery.

The suspects ran out the back of the store.

During the on-scene investigation, police said a search of the area was conducted and Horry County Police Department helped with the search.

During the search, a cab was stopped that had an occupant matching the description.

The four suspects occupants were arrested and taken to J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

    Several people who live on the side streets of Ocean Blvd. in North Myrtle Beach recently received a letter saying they need to get rid of obstructions in front of their homes. The city says that’s because the space could be used for public parking. Around 30 people came out to the city council meeting on Monday to speak out about the issue.
