Florence firefighters put out vacant house fire

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - A house caught fire Thursday night in Florence.

Firefighters responded to the vacant house fire on Carver Street at around 10 p.m., according to Kenneth Carr with the Florence Fire Department.

Fire crews said the fire was under control in about 20 minutes.

No one was hurt, according to Carr.

Firefighters reported heavy damage to about 50 percent of the house.

The fire is under investigation by the Florence Police Department. Along with the police department, Florence County EMS was also on scene. Crews remained on scene for approximately one hour and thirty minutes.
