Armed robbery suspect wanted after firing shots in Loris

LORIS, SC (WMBF) - An armed robbery suspect is wanted after taking more than $200 from a Loris convenience store and firing gunshots in the parking lot.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing a hooded camouflage jacket, blue jeans, gloves and a bandana over his face. It is believed the wanted man left in a brown pick-up truck.

The robbery happened December 27, at about 4 a.m. at the Time Saver convenience store on North Highway 701, according to police.

After taking the money from the register, the victim said a customer followed the suspect out of the store and ordered the robber to stop.

Police say the customer had a concealed weapons permit from North Carolina.

According to witnesses, the robber and the customer exchanged gunfire in the street in front of the store.

There were no injuries or property damage as a result of the gunfire.
