Two people robbed in similar incidents Saturday

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Two people were assaulted and robbed in two separate, but similar incidents around the same time Saturday morning.

At about 2:30, a Myrtle Beach Police Officer was flagged down by one of the victims along Ocean Boulevard.

According to the police report, the victim was walking home when a 4-door gold Sedan pulled up next to her and someone inside the car asked her if she wanted to party.

After refusing the offer, the suspect in the back seat jumped out the Sedan with a gun pointed at her and demanded her purse.

The report says the suspects hit her with the gun and kicked the victim in the head.

Another witness on the scene told police another female was jumped. She was sitting in The Landmark Hotel lobby.

The victim described the suspects as two black males in their early 20's weighing about 150 to 170. One of the suspects was described as having thick, medium length dreads.  

When police arrived at The Landmark Hotel, they found the second victim with bumps and bruises on her head and face.

That victim said the same thing happened to her and told police three suspects were in a charcoal 4-door Sedan at Ocean Boulevard and 10th Avenue South.

She said the suspects dragged her down into a hotel parking garage.

The victim stated that a one hit her in the head several times with a gun and the other two suspects were kicking her.

The suspects took $120 and left the area in an unknown direction.

One suspect was described weighing 145 to 155 pounds with a white shirt on. The other suspect was described wearing an orange zip-up sweatshirt. The victim described both suspects as black males, 5-foot-10-inches tall, and in their early 20's.

Officers responded to 518 East 9th Street in Lumberton shortly after 10:00 Saturday night. 41-year-old Kenneth Wayne Bryant was found dead in an apartment building, having suffered from an apparent gunshot wound.
