Filter system at Johnson Controls catches fire

FLORENCE, SC (WM BF) - A filter system caught fire at Johnson Controls on Thursday at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Windy Hill and Howe Springs firefighters responded to the fire. According to Windy Hill fire chief, John DeLung, "the filtering system was used to remove lead dust from the air."

Firefighters went through decontamination and cleared the plant at 1 p.m. No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
