Fifth suspect charged following deadly armed robbery

RED SPRINGS, NC (WMBF) - 18-year-old Christoper McGeachy of Red Springs has been found, arrested and charged following a fatal robbery.

McGeachy was charged with first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, attempted first degree murder, and conspiracy of robbery with a deadly weapon, according to Red Springs Police Chief Ronnie Patterson.

The deadly shooting happened Thursday, December 11 at Roscoe's Convenience Store.

Two black men went into the store and shot the clerk and customer, police said.

Following the shooting, the two suspects ran and met up with a third person, who standing outside the store, Patterson said.

The suspects fled the scene.

Darrick McArthur, one the suspects, was caught immediately and held on unrelated warrants. McArthur has since been charged with the same crimes as McGeachy, according to police.

According to police, McGeachy is one of the two suspects that went into the store.

The other suspect that went into the store is Vayshawn McLean, 18, of the Shannon area, according to the Red Springs Police Department. McLean has been charged with the same crimes as McGeachy. Four people have been arrested in connection with the crime.
