FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - A Florence man has been arrested on 20 counts of child sex charges, according to SC Attorney General Alan Wilson.

Jonathan Michael McKenzie, 20, was charged by Florence County Sheriff's deputies. The agency is a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

According to authorities, a referral was received from investigators at the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office (also a member of the ICAC Task Force) that images depicting children engaged in sexual activity or in states of explicit nudity were downloaded through peer-to-peer file sharing to a computer traced to McKenzie's address.

Investigators said they executed a search warrant and computer equipment was seized for examination.

McKenzie was arrested December 17. He could face 10 years of prison for each count.

Bond for McKenzie was set at $5,000.
