Armed robber suspect on the run after hitting Conway gas station

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - An alleged armed robbery suspect is wanted after a gas station on Highway 378 was robbed Friday, police said.

The Money Saver Convenience Store, located at 4062 Highway 378, was robbed by an unknown male, according to the Horry County Police Department.

The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a black hat, a handkerchief over his face, blue shirt and dark pants.

Police said the suspect used a black handgun during the robbery and made off with an estimated $300 in cash. The suspect is believed to have gotten into a four-door white car following the alleged robbery.

Victims told police a white male could have possibly been an acting as a 'look out' during the crime. According to the report, "[the white male] driving that [white] vehicle who was in and out of the store getting $5 in gas but kept going in to possibly check to see if the store was clear."

The victim told police, "the unknown black male came in shortly after the vehicle left from the wood line behind the store, as he was seen on camera and came in pointing a black handgun at victim 1 and 2 demanding money."

After grabbing the register and demanding money, the suspect ran "towards the highway possibly running to Highway 134."

Police said they dusted the store for fingerprints and searched the area.
