MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A North Carolina man is $200,000 richer after winning the top prize in the South Carolina Education Lottery Thanksgiving Day drawing, according to lottery officials.
The man's Palmetto Cash 5 ticket for Thursday's drawing matched all five numbers drawn to win the $100,000 top prize, but since he "Powered-Up" for an additional $1, the $100,000 top prize was doubled to $200,000.
The lucky winner said he plans to visit the Myrtle Beach area more often after claiming his winnings on Monday.
