Plantersville man arrested for drugs, stolen motorcycle, owning guns

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A Plantersville man has been arrested for drugs in Georgetown County. Leonard Deon Heyward, 35, was arrested on drug charges after officials searched a residence on Exodus Drive, officials said.

Officials said the search warrant led to the discovery of heroin, crack cocaine, powder cocaine and marijuana along with scales, packaging materials and items related to producing controlled substances.

Agents said they also found a loaded .38 caliber revolver, under the mattress Heyward was sleeping on, that had been stolen in Williamsburg County.

In addition, agents said they took a 9mm pistol and .22 caliber rifle, along with a quantity of ammunition, from Heyward who is a convicted felon and prohibited from owning firearms and ammunition.

Deputies said they also located a Yamaha motorcycle, stolen from Horry County, at the residence and took three other motorcycles along with approximately $704 in cash.

Heyward was transported to the Georgetown County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing on two charges of

distribution of crack cocaine.

He is also being held pending warrant for PWID crack, heroin, cocaine and marijuana along with possession of a stolen handgun and possession of a stolen motorcycle.
