Homeowners protest against 'rent discrimination'

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - Conway residents protested about the costs of mortgage and rent Thursday.

The group of homeowners protested against what they call rent discrimination.

At Lakeside Crossing, located on Myrtle Ridge Road, some homeowners said they are paying $400 per month to rent the land their homes are on.

Lakeside Crossing residents bought their homes from the developer, Sobel Company.

In addition to rent costs, some homeowners said they also pay to use the community's clubhouse and recreational facilities.
