Sample ballots available to registered SC voters

SOUTH CAROLINA (WMBF) - Sample ballots are available to registered voters.

To view your sample ballot:

Go to: http://www.scvotes.org/

See: Get my sample ballot in right hand box. Type in your personal information and your ballot will appear.

In addition to local county races, South Carolina registered voters will vote for:

Governor

Lieutenant Governor

Secretary of State

State Treasurer

Attorney General

Comptroller General

State Superintendent of Education

Adjutant General

Commissioner of Agriculture

U.S. Senate

U.S. Senate (Unexpired Term)

In addition, voters must vote ‘yes' or ‘no' on two statewide constitutional amendments.

The first poll requires a ‘yes' or ‘no' vote to allow certain nonprofit organizations to conduct raffles and use the proceeds for charitable, religious or educational purposes.

A ‘no' vote would maintain the current law that considers a raffle to be a lottery and is prohibited.

The second ballot question involves the position of adjutant general.

A ‘yes' vote will require, beginning in 2018, the Adjutant General be appointed by the Governor with consent of the Senate. The General Assembly will set the term, duties, compensation and qualifications for office and procedures by which appointment is made and how an Adjutant General can be removed from office.

A ‘no' vote would maintain the current method of electing an Adjutant General.
