MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Employees from Myrtle Beach city departments took part in a cook-off to raise money for the American Heart Association.

City departments from Myrtle's Market and located on Mr. Joe White Avenue and Oak Street were challenged in the event. The lunchtime cook-off was held Friday at Myrtle's Market.

A three-person team from the departments were challenged to prepare lunch for judging and tasting, as a “fun fundraiser.”

The challenge started at 9 a.m. and teams had three hours to prepare their lunch entrees. Teams were provided all cooking equipment and had to use at least one item from a Myrtle's Market.

Tasting and judging was open to the public for a $3.00 donation to the American Heart Association.
