HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Habitat for Humanity of Horry County has partnered with Bank of America and Brittain Resort Management to prepare a home for a family of three.
This is the 123rd home that Habitat for Humanity has broken the ground for in the county. Brittain Resort Management, a full service resort management organization, is sponsoring the entire build of Alicia McIntyre's new home. Building expenses are $70,000. The land on Overcrest Drive in Myrtle Beach was donated by Bank of America.
McIntyre applied to the program because of cramped living conditions, and a desire to provide a place for her children to call home. She will be moving into the new home with her son Jaylen, 7 and daughter Ta'Vonna, 10.
"Home is a place for my kids to have the space to just be kids. Home is a place for us to grow, to laugh, and to simply be a family," McIntyre said.
The blessing of the house was scheduled for Wednesday, October 15 but due to weather conditions it will now be held on Saturday, October 25, at 8 a.m.
