CONWAY, S.C. (WMBF) - Charleston Southern needs to salvage its season, and can do so with a win against Coastal Carolina this weekend. The Chants have other plans though, and look to push the Bucs' losing streak to three games. CSU actually outgained Vanderbilt in yardage two weeks ago, but lost by one to the Commodores.
Last week was a bit more critical, as CSU suffered its first Big South loss and didn't score a single touchdown against Presbyterian. Another loss would likely eliminate them from any playoff contention, and the team knows that Coastal will present a challenge.
"We have to play ten times better than what we've been playing on offense, and its certain positions we have to start playing better at," said second year head coach Jamey Chadwell. "And I think you'll see us play better. Whether it's good enough, I don't know but you'll see us play a little bit more loose."
The CCU defense went three straight games only allowing a field goal in each one, but surrendered 28 to Presbyterian in the team's last outing two weeks ago. Kickoff is set for 3:30 at Brooks Stadium
