Councilman files suit against city of Timmonsville for breach of contract

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Timmonsville Councilman, James Lee Askins has filed a law suit against the town of Timmonsville for breach of contract, according to court documents.

The suit states that on July 1, 2011, Askins paid $750 to the town's utility department for water and sewer services, for his property on 1/2 Main Street. According to court papers, The town agreed to promptly provide the services to Askins' lot.

The lawsuit goes on to say that Askins purchased a mobile home and moved it to the site where the services were supposed to be provided. The home was ready in November of 2011 but due to lack of sewer service, the mobile home has suffered damages and has since been unfit for living.

Askins filed the suit On October 2, 2014. The court information states that Askins requests a reward of any damages that were caused to his property because of the lack of services from the town.
