Florence chamber to host inaugural Chili, Brews & BBQ festival

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - The inaugural Chili, Brews & BBQ Festival and Cook-off will be held Friday and Saturday in downtown Florence. 

On November 14th and 15th, locals will gather from all over South Carolina to join in one of the biggest BBQ cook-offs in the state. Beginning at 11 a.m., Saturday, on the 100 Block of S. Dargan Street, between Evans and Cheves Street.


Parking will be first come, first serve between the Performing Arts Center and Victor's Bistro, as well as in the DHEC lot on Cheves Street.


The calendar of events taking place today are as followed:


11 AM- Festival officially begins

11 AM- 2 PM- Miller Communications Live Broadcast
12 PM- Jebb Mac band takes the stage to begin first set. Sets will alternate with breaks from 1-1:30 and from 2:30-3.
3 PM- Winners of cook-offs are officially announced, prizes handed out
4PM- Jebb Mac Band wraps up performances
6PM- Official end of festival


If you still want to participate in the cook-off, it's not too late to join. The Florence Chamber is still looking to fill spots for the best BBQ team.


Organizers took to Facebook to spread the word: 

If you or someone you know, makes a mean chili or creates a finger-lickin' specimen of pulled pork, this is YOUR event.

Sign up as an individual or as a team and compete for not only bragging rights, but some pretty amazing cash prizes for several different levels.

The first place BBQ team will receive $1,000 and first place chili will win $150!
