SURFSIDE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A Surfside Beach woman has been arrested and charged in connection with two robberies. Surfside Beach Police arrested Lisa H. Lowder, 47, and charged her with attempted armed robbery and strong armed robbery, officials said. The said crimes occurred on October 15 and October 16, according to police reports.
The first robbery occurred on October 15 just after 11 p.m. at a convenience store on Glenns Bay Road, according to authorities. The suspect reportedly entered the store and ordered the clerk to get behind the counter, while threatening the use of a handgun. The clerk was able to escape the store through the back door. No injuries were reported.
During the second incident, at approximately 3 p.m. the following day, SBPD officers responded
to a parking lot off Highway 17 North for a reported purse snatching.
The suspect fled the scene prior to officer's arrival, police said.
Through eyewitness accounts and cooperation, the suspect was soon located and
arrested, according to investigators.
During further investigation, investigators said they were able to identify her as a suspect in both
Lowder was transported to J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
