MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - City leaders have narrowed the search for Myrtle Beach city manager to four finalists. Edward Driggers, Robert Middaugh, John Pedersen, Jr., and Jonathan "Fox" Simons, Jr. are the remaining candidates, according to council.
Driggers resides in Greer, where he is the city administrator. His previous experience includes city administrator for Chester, SC; plant superintendent in Chester; production planner and newspaper reporter.
Middaugh comes from Williamsburg, Virginia. He served as county administrator for a population of 70,000 in Virginia. Middaugh was the assistant city manager for the city of Miami Beach for nine years. In addition, he served many town and city managerial roles throughout his career.
Pedersen lives in North Myrtle Beach and serves as the assistant city manager. In his previous experience, he served a variety of roles, including assistant city manager to the city of Durham, North Carolina.
Simons resides in Easley, where he is the city administrator. Prior, he served the city of Greenville, SC for five years in various roles, including interim director in the office of management and budget. Simons began his career in Montgomery County, Maryland, where he was employed as an analyst/researcher/liaison.
