Local motel vandalized early Saturday morning

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A case of vandalism struck the Super 8 Motel off US 17 Bypass in Myrtle Beach early Saturday.

Myrtle Beach police responded to a destruction of property complaint. The complainant stated that he had video of Sanjiv Michael Khanna, 28, damaging exit signs and setting off a fire extinguisher.

Police viewed the video of Khanna ripping the exit sign on the 5th floor and letting it hang down by the wires.

A minute later, Khanna goes to the 3rd and 4th floor, ripping down those exit signs as well.

The police report states that Khanna went around a corner and returned carrying a fire extinguisher. Khanna is seen entering the elevator and returned to the 5th floor. When the elevation doors open, the surveillance video shows a white powder filling a room.

The officer went to the offender's room and arrested Khanna for destruction of property. Khanna was then transported to the Myrtle Beach Jail.
