Suspect found guilty in murder trial of CCU student

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Jurors found Marquis McDonald guilty for the shooting death of CCU student Anthony Liddell. McDonald was also found guilty of armed robbery.

A judge sentenced McDonald to 45 years.

McDonald apologized, asked for forgiveness, and said he knows the truth and knows he's not the one responsible.

The jury deliberated for nearly three hours in an Horry County courtroom Thursday. The trial began Monday, lasting three days.

Anthony Liddell was fatally shot on February 26, outside University Place, CCU student housing, located at 114 Jackson Bluff Rd. in Conway, SC.

McDonald and Stephon McClain were named as two murder suspects in Liddell's death.
