ROBESON COUNTY, NC (WMBF) - A woman died in a house fire early Tuesday morning in Robeson County.
Debra Cummings Strickland, 48, was found in the home by the Queheel and Evans fire departments, according to Lt. Duckworth with the Robeson County Sheriff's Office.
The fire started in the kitchen area and the cause has not yet been determined, according to investigators.
The fire was called in by a passerby just before 1 a.m. Tuesday. Investigators said it took about two hours to put out the hot spots. The main fire was put out quickly after responders arrived, Duckworth stated.
