FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - Team IMPACT in partnership with Francis Marion University's men's soccer program will host a draft day signing event to sign their newest teammate on Thursday, October 9, at 3 p.m.
Maddox Daniel 4, will be recognized as an official member of the Patriot soccer Team at the Hartzler Soccer Field press box in the Griffin Athletic Complex. Daniel has been diagnosed with Duchenne Mucscular Dystrophy (DMD), a disease that causes progressive muscle degeneration.
Team IMPACT and FMU's soccer team are responsible for this milestone in Daniel's life. Team IMPACT is a charitable organization that pairs children facing adverse health issues with vibrant, team-based collegiate support networks. The Boston-based organization was formed in 2011, and is currently at 251 schools in 36 states throughout the country.
After Daniel's "Draft Day," he will attend practices, games and social events with teammates and mentors as an official member of the Patriot's soccer team. Admission is free and the public is invited.
