Police: Man arrested after taking girlfriend’s car

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - One man was arrested after he allegedly failed to return his girlfriend's vehicle after borrowing it, according to a police report.

The victim told Myrtle Beach police that Jason Rayshard Mitchell, 36, of Aynor was allowed to use her Ford Escape on September 24, 2014 to run errands and go to work.

When Mitchell did not return home from work, the victim called police. She did not have her vehicle information and did not wish further police involvement.

The victim discovered her car on Pine Island Road two days later. She was able to get into the vehicle due to a window not working properly but the keys to the vehicle were gone.

Mitchell and the victim had been seeing each other for six months and was allowed to use the vehicle to go to work, according to the police report.

Mitchell was wanted for breach of trust with fraudulent intent. He was arrested on October 8 and charged with criminal domestic violence, according to Myrtle Beach Jail records.
