Georgetown fire, EMS crews work to clear Choppee Road accident

GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) - Georgetown County Fire and EMS crews responded to an accident involving a school bus Tuesday.

The driver of a van was injured after rear-ending the school bus. Crews worked to remove those trapped in the vehicle that hit the bus, Chief Tony Hucks confirmed. The driver was taken to a local hospital.

The accident happened at Choppee Road and Carter Drive and was reported at 2:44 p.m. by Highway Patrol.
