CCU to observe a Sexual Assault Awareness Week

Conway, SC (WMBF) – Coastal Carolina University will observe a Sexual Assault Awareness Week.

From Monday, October 6th to Thursday, October 9th CCU will have various programs and events held to encourage discussion and promote awareness of sexual violence in the surrounding community.

All events being held will be open to the public and free of charge.

Events planned for the week include:

Monday, October 6

  • Relationship and Alcohol/Drugs Screening Day from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. located on Prince Lawn
  • "Got Consent?" Forum from 6 to 7 p.m. at Wall 118

Tuesday, October 7

  • Make a Poster for "Take Back the Night" from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. located on Prince Lawn
  • "Take Back the Night" March and Rally Against Violence from 6 to 8 p.m., begins at Blanton Circle and ends at Wall Building

Wednesday, October 8

  • The Clothesline Project, T-shirts exhibited that shows support of sexual violence victims, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. located on Prince Lawn

Thursday, October 9

  • Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN) Day, exhibit on topics relating to sexual violence such as stalking, incest, human trafficking, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. located on Prince Lawn
  • Human Trafficking panel discussion, 6 to 7 p.m. at Wall 309
