Father charged for hitting infant with fist

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A Timmonsville man was arrested Saturday morning after hitting and injuring his one-month-old infant with his fist, according to Sheriff Kenney Boone with the Florence County Sheriff's Office.

Kelly Terell Lyde, 34, allegedly struck his one-month-old infant with his fist while in a domestic fight with the infant's mother, who was holding the infant at the time, according to Sheriff Boone.

The infant sustained a displaced left calvarial head fracture to the head and is receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.

Lyde was charged with inflicting great bodily injury upon a child and criminal domestic violence.
