LUMBERTON, NC (WMBF) – Two men were shot multiple times in Lumberton Thursday night – one man had life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.
Azell Houston, 27, of Lumberton was charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, one count of felony discharge and one count of conspiracy in connection to the incident.
At about 9:42 p.m. Thursday, Lumberton Police officers were dispatched to a shots fired call on Lovette Road, according to a news release from the department. A few minutes later, two men arrived by personal vehicle at a nearby hospital.
A 28-year-old Lumberton resident had been shot multiple times, and his injuries were believed to be life-threatening. Another 22-year-old man was also shot multiple times, but his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, officials stated.
Houston is currently being held in the Robeson County Detention Center under $116,000.00 secured bond.
