As the baby boomer population grows older and begins to retire there is also a growing opportunity for businesses to market their services to that group and grow their revenue.
South Carolina is getting into the act by launching a program to target this senior group and encourage them to shop, dine and vacation in South Carolina. The program is designed to grow tourism, but also to encourage the nearly 1 million seniors in South Carolina to get out and enjoy the many opportunities across the state.
It's a smart move to target this group as they have more discretionary income that previous generations and will redefine what retirement and aging means. If you're a business owner you should mark January 8th on your calendar for Senior Week and take advantage of this opportunity.
