LUMBERTON, NC (WMBF) – On Tuesday evening, Lumberton Police investigators arrested a 19-year-old man for the murder of a Connecticut man on Monday night.
Terrence Devon Paige was taken into custody without incident for the murder of 53-year-old Edward M. Reiner Jr.
Paige was charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and first-degree murder, Lumberton Police officials stated.
The incident took place Monday, September 29 shortly after 9 p.m., according to the department. Shots were reportedly fired in the area of Kings Daycare located on Martin Luther King Drive.
Through the investigation, detectives say they have learned that the shooting took place in the rear parking lot of the Sun Do, located at 3623 Martin Luther King Drive, where some type of altercation took place.
According to the Associated Press, Reiner worked for Dreamland Amusements featured at the fair that is set to open later this week.

Paige was arrested at about 6:20 p.m. Tuesday by investigators with the Lumberton Police Department, along with the investigator for the Robeson County District Attorney. Paige is being held in the Robeson County Detention Center with no bond.
