Woman wanted for stealing jewelry in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach police responded to Belk at Coastal Grand Mall on August 26, 2014 in reference to a shoplifting incident.

A witness told police that he observed Tammy Lyn Cassidy, 43, of Myrtle Beach select several jewelry items from merchandise racks and placed them in the bottom of her shopping cart.

The witness then stated that Cassidy went into the fitting room and came out with less merchandise in the cart than what she had before she entered the room.

Cassidy went to the register and paid for some clothing items. She then exited the store passing all final points of sale, according to the police report.

The witness stopped Cassidy on her way out and identified himself as loss prevention for Belk. He asked Cassidy to come back into the store but she resisted and left.

The witness was able to get Cassidy's purse which had numerous jewelry items in it that were not paid for, according to the police report.

A total of 11 rings, nine bracelets, one necklace and seven sets of earrings were in the purse.
