Myrtle Beach, SC (WMBF) – A fugitive is now behind bars after a routine traffic stop that took place Saturday morning on Ocean Boulevard.
A Myrtle Beach Police officer pulled over Howard Campbell, 32, in the area of 3rd Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard Saturday at 9:05 a.m., according to Officer Shelton.
Officer Shelton also confirmed that the suspect had 0.8 grams of crack/cocaine along with marijuana in the process of being arrested.
The responding officer notified the Myrtle Beach Police Department Dispatch that Campbell matched the description of a wanted subject out of the Myrtle Beach Police Department agency.
The police report states that Howard Campbell was then detained until the MBPD confirmed that the suspect had two active warrants for kidnapping and burglary. Campbell was also wanted by the North Carolina Department of Public Safety for a violation of probation exceeding more than one year.
Campbell was arrested and transported to the Myrtle Beach jail where he was booked at 9:37 a.m. for kidnapping, burglary, and possession of drugs with the intent to sell/distribute. There is no word when he is expected to appear for bond hearing.
