MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - One woman was tased by Myrtle Beach police Tuesday afternoon after assaulting police officers while under arrest for public intoxication, according to a police report.
Myrtle Beach police responded to a local motel around 2:30 p.m. in reference to two people arguing and possibly intoxicated.
Police found Gigi Stanga, 53, from Tennessee, unsteady on her feet trying to get into a pickup truck.
However, a man who was with Stanga, told police she was not going anywhere because she was intoxicated.
Once officers placed Stanga under arrest for public intoxication, she refused to get into the police vehicle.
The officers tried to physically put Stanga into the vehicle, but she yelled, kicked and made threats at the officers, according to the report.
Police then tased Stanga in the chest area which caused her to fall in the vehicle. Stanga continued to fight, kick and tried to get out of the vehicle. Police tased her again on her hip to put her seat belt on her, according to the police report.
The man Stanga was with told police that she is bi-polar and drinks heavily all day, every day.
Stanga was charged with assault on a police officer, public intoxication and resisting arrest.
