HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Votes have been tallied and Ronnie Sabb has won the runoff election in the Democratic primary for state senate, representing District 32.

Sabb and Sam Floyd were running in Tuesday's Democratic runoff in Senate District 32.

Voters from the Pee Dee, in counties: Berkeley, Florence, Georgetown, Horry and Williamsburg took to the polls.

Sabb finished with 58.7 percent of the votes, while Floyd bagged 41.3 percent.

Sabb is the presumptive winner of the senate seat, as no Republican has filed to run in the election in November.

This special election was held to fill the vacant seat after Yancy McGill became the state's Lieutenant Governor. McGill became lieutenant governor earlier this year when Glenn McConnell resigned to become president of the College of Charleston.
