GCSO: Man faces attempted murder charge in nightclub fight

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Officers with the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office responded to an Andrews, SC nightclub early Saturday morning in reference to a fight that occurred.

Cameron Lee Yarborough, 21, was arrested for attempted murder in connection to the incident, according to Georgetown County Sheriff's Office.

One of the victims told police that the fight stated because Yarborough punched a female.

The victim told Yarborough that he should not assault females and that is when the two of them began to fight. The victim told police that he got Yarborough on the ground and was holding him there until he calmed down.

Yarborough then followed the victim outside along with several other suspects and provoked him to fight again. The victim said he was cut across his back at some point during the fight, according to the police report.

The other victim told police that he was pulling people off of the victim in the fight when two more suspects began hitting and kicking him causing a very large knot to swell on the right side of his head.

Both victims were transported by EMS to Georgetown Medical Hospital.

Witness statements described several males by the names of Kevin Mercer, Timothy Cribb and Joshua Peevey as suspects dragging the victim across the ground.

A warrant affidavit will be presented against Mercer, Cribb and Peevey.
