A robbery suspect is on the run after he held a man at gunpoint and took his cell phone, according to police.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A robbery suspect is wanted after he held a man at gunpoint and took his cell phone, according to police.

The incident happened Friday night on Socastee Boulevard, a Myrtle Beach police report states.

The victim told police he was walking from the CVS drugstore when, at the corner of the parking lot, he was approached by the suspect with a semi-auto pistol.

The suspect "pointed the pistol and said 'Give me your money.'"

The victim said he didn't have any money, and when he emptied his pockets, the suspect took his cell phone.

The victim told police the suspect then proceeded to wave the pistol, telling him to leave. The victim said the suspect "racked the slide of his pistol, ejecting a round and began to walk."

The suspect is described as a black male in his early 20s, standing 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 in height. He has a slim build, short hair, some facial hair and was wearing a long sleeve black shirt and black mesh gym shorts.
