(WMBF) – On this week's Restaurant Scorecard, inspectors from the Department of Health and Environmental Control visited restaurants in Garden City, Conway, and North Myrtle Beach, and re-inspected an Italian chain restaurant in Murrells Inlet.
Southside Patty's in Garden City received a score of 97 during its routine inspection last week. According to the inspection report, a bulk food container was not labeled, utensils were not stored 'handles up' on the cookline, and the sanitizing solution did not have a labeled 'ppm,' or parts-per-million.
Maryland Fried Chicken in Conway received a score of 88 out of 100 during its routine inspection. The DHEC report notes that multiple non-food contact surfaces were not clean, the walls of the walk-in cooler were rusted, the slicer and ice machine were not clean, a wooden table was in poor repair, several sinks were not clean, and numerous flies were seen in the food prep area.
Pizza Inn in Conway also received 88 out of 100 points during its routine inspection, according to DHEC reports. Dirty utensils were stored in a drawer, leftover meat was improperly reheated, bulk food was not labeled, a washing area was not properly constructed, a chlorine test kit was not provided, and the dish machine and sink were not clean. In addition, the pizza oven, prep table, soda machine, ice bin, shelving, walk-in cooler, floor drains, walls and floors were not clean.
Dick's Last Resort in North Myrtle Beach scored 96 out of 100 during the routine inspection from DHEC. Inspectors noted that the dish machine was not sanitizing, thermometers were not provided in prep coolers, and foods were stored on the floor in the walk-in cooler, but all these violations were corrected during the inspection. Inspectors also noted that there was not sufficient light outside the walk-in cooler.
Carraba's Italian Grill in Murrells Inlet received a near-perfect sore during their re-inspection: 99 out of 100. The only violation was a consecutive one: the floor drains and mop sink basin were not properly grouted and sealed. Carraba's scored 88 points during its routine inspection last month.
