MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The Theodosia Burr Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is celebrating the 227th anniversary of the signing of the US Constitution.
The celebration will take place at the First Presbyterian Church Hall at 3810 Grissom Parkway on Saturday, September 20 at 10 a.m. Actor and pastor, Mark Collins will appear as George Washington and the Carolina Master Chorale will perform patriotic songs.

In 1955, the DAR petitioned to Congress to dedicate the week of September 17-23 to the observance of Constitution Week. The resolution was approved in 1956 by President Dwight Eisenhower. The Theodosia Burr chapter was founded on February 22, 1958, on George Washington's birthday. Today the chapter has over 140 members.
