Robbery suspect on the run in Horry County

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Officials with the Horry County Police Department are searching for robbery suspect.

On June 29, a male and female were robbed by an unknown white male suspect at their home in Little River.

The suspect followed the male victim onto the elevator where the victim lives and got off on the same floor. Minutes later, there was a knock on the door. The victim opened the door to find the suspect holding either a knife or box cutter, demanding money from the victim. After a short altercation, the victim was cut and suffered a laceration to his neck. A female victim came to the male's aid. Police say her life was threatened by the suspect. The suspect took money from the victim and fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male, in his late 20's or early 30's. He had short hair at the time of the incident and was clean shaven, police say. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a baseball cap and a gray T-shirt. He appeared to be intoxicated.

Horry County Police Major Crimes Detectives are asking for tips in this case. In addition, Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry has offered a $1,000 reward leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
