HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Police say a male suspect pepper-sprayed a Walmart employee in the face when the employee tried to prevent him and a female suspect from shoplifting from the store.

Both suspects tried to leave the Walmart on Kings Road with a shopping cart full of unpaid items, according to a Facebook post from the Horry County Police Department. When approached by a loss prevention employee, the male suspect sprayed the employee with pepper spray.

The suspects then fled on foot to the parking lot and got away in an 80's model Ford pickup truck, which appeared to be blue on the top and bottom, with white in the middle, according to the post.

Police say the female suspect, was wearing a red shirt, and the male was wearing camouflage. Both are seen in surveillance images provided by HCPD.

Anyone who can help police identify the suspects is asked to call 915-TIPS. You can remain anonymous.
