MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The World Am has attracted more than golfers to the Grand Strand. More than 75 vendors are in Myrtle Beach for the Myrtle Beach World Amateur Handicap Championship.
The World's Largest 19th Hole, held each night of the tournament at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center has drawn in hundreds of golfers and vacationers.
Companies are able to showcase their products or services at the World's Largest 19th Hole, the tournament's nightly party, which runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The 19th Hole, which also includes free food, open bar and live entertainment, among other activities, is the event's social hub, attracting thousands of people each night, according to Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday.
The World Am, which opened play Monday and concludes with the World Championship Playoff Friday at Barefoot Resort's Dye Club, is a 72-hole net stroke play tournament that attracted 3,400 players this year. Participants from 48 states and 34 countries have made the event successful in 2014.
