2 men arrested following mobile meth lab bust in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Two men have been arrested on drug charges following a two month investigation by Marion County Combined Unit agents.

James Franklin Polson, 60, of Darlington and Robert Wayne Polson, 56, of Marion were arrested Wednesday, August 27, according to Major Brian Wallace with the Marion County Combined Drug Unit.

James Polson was charged with a second offense of methamphetamine distribution, according to Wallace. He was traveling on a moped on Highway 76, when a vehicle accident occurred, Marion County Sheriff Mark Richardson confirmed.

James Polson was in possession of multiple items used in the methamphetamine manufacturing process, investigators said.

Robert Wayne Polson was charged with two counts of distribution of methamphetamine and two count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, according to Major Wallace.

Both suspects were taken to the Marion County Detention Center. Bond was set for both men.
