Myrtle Beach hotel room entered three times while couple was out, records say

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A room at the Crown Reef Resort was entered three times Monday while a couple was out. When the couple later returned, the woman said that she noticed money was missing from her wallet, according to a report from the Myrtle Beach Police Department.

The victim told police that she left her wallet in the hotel room around 9 a.m. Monday while her and her husband went to the pool.

The couple returned from the pool about an hour and a half later and then went to lunch. When they returned at 4 p.m., the woman noticed that two $100 bills were missing from her wallet, according to the police report.

Police then spoke with hotel management who provided the officer with a lock interrogation. According to the interrogation, the room key was used to access the room three times at 10:07 a.m., 11:43 a.m. and 2:43 p.m.

Management told police that housekeeping personnel had left for the night and that a follow up would have to be completed in order to determine who entered the room.
