HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A dog that was reportedly stolen in Washington D.C. wound up on the side of the road in Surfside Beach, but is being returned to her owner, thanks to her identification tags.

The lucky pup came to the Horry County Animal Care Center last week, and because she had identification, the center was able to get her onto a transport and on her way back to a very grateful owner, according to a Facebook post.

All 4 Paws assisted with transporting the dog 430 miles back to her home in Washington D.C.
