An Horry Co. family is homeless after an early morning fire

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - An Horry County family is now homeless after their home caught fire early Tuesday morning. 

Horry County Fire Rescue crews were called out to the home at 5560 Long Branch Swamp Road before 3:00 a.m.

According to Battalion Chief Dan Shankle, it was an unintentional fire.  All six people, three adults and three children made it out safely. The home is reportedly a total loss.

Battalion Chief Shankle said the family is with other family members at this time, and The American Red Cross has stepped in to help.

Crews are beginning to clear the scene and are packing up their equipment. Loris Fire and Tabor City fire crews also responded to the house fire.
